Values and Beliefs

Beliefs

How do you know if your beliefs are yours or someone elses?

And what are beliefs anyway?  An example of a common belief is "that you should study hard at school, go to university, get a job, raise a family and look after your parents as they retire".  Or that "relaxing is procrastination or laziness.  You should be busy doing something all the time."

At times our beliefs can become a barrier to us achieving success or making a positive change.  They are not always healthy for us.

Does this sound like you ?  "If I delegate, I will loose control." "No one cares about what I have to say."  "The grass is always greener on the other side."

You can change your belief system.  It takes time, energy and a willingness to want a more fulfilling life.

Values

What do you value most in life?

Enjoying an ice cream in the sun with a friend, or caring for the environment, or being active, or laughter, or financial rewards, or being passionate about everything you do, or stability, or home baked cooking for your children.

Have you stopped to ask yourself:

- what values are missing from my life?

- do my values align with those of my employer?

- what are my values?

Reviewing your values and beliefs is an important part of the coaching process.  If you have no idea what your values are and would like a coach to assist you to unearth these and establish where they are being met and the areas for improvement.  Contact TMK consulting This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
