Can any Wellington club beat the record held by the Wellington Toastmasters Club

They have been meeting weekly, and recently every fortnight, on or near The Terrace for 42 year.

This club has helped improve the communication skills of people who have become university professors, authors, politicians an diplomats, even a Cabinet Minister and an Auditor General.  But many people just attend to learn how to chair meetings, or to give a speech at a wedding or to their colleagues at work.

The Wellington Toastmasters Club was the first Toastmasters club in the Wellington region and only the fourth club in New Zealand.  There are now over 40 Toastmasters clubs in the Wellington region.  Wellington has probably one of the highest numbers of clubs per head of population in the world and this shows how keen we are to improve our communication skills.

The Wellington Toastmasters Club, a non-profit organisation, meets fortnightly on the top floor of Turnbull House.  Meetings start at 5:30pm on Monday evenings and finish no later than 7:30pm.  The cost to attend such a meeting is not much more than buying a cup of coffee and the meetings do include a cup of coffee, include with a first-class monthly magazine containing articles written by international authorities on communication.

Because of the quality of the membership you will learn much and enjoy entertaining and educational talks.  The members are friendly, supportive and engaging.  There is no pressure to join, just turn up and listen.  Visitors are always welcome and no costs are involved.  Club numbers are limited.

Visit their website www.wellingtontoastmasters.co.nz for dates of meetings and further details.
