Have you ever watched a music video or tv commercial and wondered where they find the people who play around in the background?

One of my personal goals for 2010 is to be a paid extra in a moie, tv commercial or music video.  I am well on my way to achieving this and have recently been an unpaid extra in a music video filmed in Wellington.

Wellington based group The Phoenix Foundation have just launched their new release Buffalo and I had the wonderful opportunity of being an extra in the background.

So how did I get such an opportunity? 

There is a fabulous website for acting, models, muscians, photographers, film crew called starnow.  The starnow webiste is a little like SEEK is for job hunters but it is also like a casting agency as well.  It lists paid and unpaid acting roles around NZ.  So if you are an aspiring actor and would like an opportunity such as appearing in a music video for a group like The Phoenix Foundation, have a look at the starnow website -  http://www.starnow.co.nz
