Trade Me's Predictions for 2010

To follow are Trade Me's Predictions for 2010 in the NZ job market ...

1  As confidence returns, employers will start to shift to a greater mix of FT (full time) permanent staff. PT (part time) and Contract jobs equated to 30% in 2009.

2  That extra confidence and certainty will flow through to skilled employees who have sat tight through the past year.

3  The current Treasury forecast on unemployment peaking at 7% will be on the money. Certainly previous expectations of 8% won't be reached.

4  Online ads will continue to dominate. Whilst we might not overtake in the spend stakes by year end, the value proposition is incomparable. Follow the audience.
